Yep you can send a pic but there are some other things. You need to have a courtorder and your support need to go through FRO.

There have been some innovative ways to go after deadbeat parents now such as posting them in The New York Times (USA) & on the back of pizza delivery boxes. You can run but you can't hide from the pizza delivery boy!

There was also some hope shed on this in the media, last summer, for kids to be able to collect from deadbeat parents but so far that has not equaled down to the provinces being able to collect on their behalf. This was in context to the non-custodial parent reporting regular wage increases with the law being able to go back to discovery within reason. I guess they figure shaming works better.

If you have the finances to try, there are private lawyers willing to do this for a fee, of course.

What worked not too badly for our family was finally settling for less than 1/2 of the original $ amount established by the court calculated as non-taxable to the custodial parent and the non-custodial parent having already paid income tax on it.

There were all the fun & games initially around bounced cheques for the first while until I registered with AMEO (SK). A family does not have to be on any kind of Government Assistance to apply. I think this helps both the custodial and non-custodial parent keep track of child support payments as each gets a copy for income tax purposes at the end of the tax year.

A website for deadbeats borrows on the idea from the website for johns, p*dophile, etc. What this might not take into account is the fact that what one person sees as a deadbeat might actually be true financial problems and postings should be done with care on a case by case basis.

If a ruling for too high of a child support monthly payment would curtail the non-custodial parent's ability to pay and tip them into financial ruin what would be the point, since the custodial parent would not be able to collect anyway!

Speaking from a custodial parent's point of view, what does not impress me are non-custodial parents who try to get out of their post-secondary educational responsibilities to their children by trying the "You are 18" approach. This leaves the custodial parent with the full load of helping to fund their child (or children's) education while subsidizing the loss of a child support payment. At the same time, they are also putting in their fair share in monetary obligations towards their children.

Can there be a solution or even a balance to this?

I understand that some people have financial difficulty to pay the support. In my case the man just quite his job when he heard that the court ordered him to pay support through FRO....
To me that is pretty low. That doesn't deserve to call himself dad. And in my eyes and many others he isn't.

There is nothing so low as a parent who refuses financial responsibility to a child he (or she) created. My hopes and best wishes are with you in your struggle.
