It used to be that a man would at least smile and say hello. It seems in today society, they have forgotten their manners and are in too much of a rush.
Well growing up in Louisiana, most people used to be flirts as the rest of the country called us. We were a place that no matter if you were a man or woman passing by someone would say hello and take a few seconds to ask how you are doing. This seems to be a changing trend.
The Big Easy is what they used to call the New Orleans area, people used to take their time and not be in such a rush. It seem this is changing, even the kids are rushing things. There was a time when people took their time to get to know each other really well. I see too many people rushing and getting hurt in the end.
I admire that you are willing to teach your kids what manners are. I know it is hard to teach kids what seems to be a forgotten art. I remember staying with my aunts and if you did not use manners, you were reminded. I still to this day, say thank you to waiters and waitresses and when ordering another drink, may I have another. Also I still say yes ma'am, yes sir, and no ma'am, no sir when asked questions, I get some strange looks when the person is younger then me. Even at work, I tell people thank you Sweetie.
