Ok everyone, Canadian males and females alike...I am curious to know if you have received alot of mail and flowers from people all over the world! I think that it's very cool to get nice sentiments from places like Greece, Spain, Australia, Pakistan, Turkey and so on...I am not complaining but wonder at their motives sometimes. What is it that these people from so far away want with you in your experience? Are they looking for penpals, an online fling, marriage, a meaningful relationship..? How far from Canada have you gotten a note from someone who liked you? Share your stories.
I receive flowers and e-mail from all over the globe.
Some are obvious scammers - like when you get the exact same e-mail from them within 15 minutes and they immediately want to chat.
The ones who propose marriage the first day are suspicious too
The ones whe immediately point out their desire to move to Canada .... also red flag
Some are just making friends. Some are looking for love.
I have met some beautiful, genuine people from all over and am grateful to count them among my friends...they have taught me much about life and myself.
I love the idea of having friends all over the world...then I always have some place to visit.
I wonder the same thing. I quite often receive e-mails from men in other countries.
Most of the people I have talked to say that they are looking for long term relationships, but as soon as I ask them why they are searching for someone outside of their country the communication stops.
Just one of the things that makes me say hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
I've had e-mails from people from Pakistan, China, Spain etc etc.. And most of them say in the first few lines that they are looking for long term and just love Canada.. That raises a big fuschia flag with me :)
Yep I've got a few send me money (Russia Latvia) LOL Ireland thats cool They don't ever stand a chance of getting to Canada from some of those countries so why bother..I would go to Dublin to meet someone but not Moscow or Hong Kong
i get flowers from guys everywhere and usually their first message comes complete with a hint that they are looking for marriage if not an actual proposal itself...
I've had flowers from South Africa, New Zealand, France, Belgium, Romania, Scotland, Ireland and the UK..... About half of which came with marriage proposals and a few that weren't in English....So long as the conversation's light and friendly, I'm fine to talk to just about anyone from anywhere....but those marriage proposals....they just creep me right out. I'm usually pretty blunt and reply "you don't know me".
Hahaha--I admit that when I first joined this site that I was all tickled by this man from the Netherlands who said: "Ok,you've found me. Let's get married" I honestly thought it was cute but I didn't go anywhere with it. The other marriage proposals creep me out because they seem to come from men from far away places and say things like "looking for woman like you for marriage". Likely a scam...then again, maybe they really do want this. Either way, it's not gonna fly with me but I admit that I am worried about the lonely women who might get taken in by the scammers. I just hope they are as smart as the majority of the women here seem to be and can trust their instincts and see these things for what they are. One thing for sure that I agree upon 100%: Any sob story asking for $$ should be ignored and reported!
I've received flowers from Russia and other far away places. I usually send. a flower back. I've sent flowers all over. If something in their pic or profile touches me, I'll send a "positive affirmation" message. I truly have "good intentions, no expectations". I learned a long time ago that "The Guys do the chasin' and the Girls do the choosin'...." I don't chase. No one is in any rush to choose. I'm seeking a Partner. Not someone to modify, judge or control. I'm interested in mutual life enhancement, not life disruption...so anyone looking for a way into Canada or an life of ease and comfort is out of luck.....
Yes, i have from all over. Scammers most of them. If its too good to be true, chances are it is. The ones that give out another email in there first message is a sign too that its a scam. They want to converse with you off this site.
