Just wanted to share 3 great days I had on the slopes of southern Ontario. Don't laugh, I know they don't compare to the west, but I did the best I could.
I met up with a couple of buddies in Collingwood and skied Blue Mountain for the last 3 days of the season.
What a blast. Great snow, mild weather, no crowds. It's the biggest resort in Ontario and usually a zoo, but Easter weekend it was quiet.
Only about half the runs were open but they were fantastic. Lots of vertical, some steeps, and long enough compared to where I usually ski.
You know, this year, more than any other, I really re-discovered my love for the sport. Skiing was definitely my salvation this year. It got my mind off the yucky stuff.
And you know, my skiing really improved -- a lot. I was skiing with a CSIA Level III guy who really knows his stuff and he said I'd pass if I took the course and the test. I don't intend to because I'm not big on the CSIA hierarchy.
I just want to ski solid and ski fast.
Me and Rob, my bud, did 3 days of solid morning till late afternoon sliding. I'm really gonna miss winter because it made the cold so enjoyable. Can't wait 'tll next year.
Promised my son I'd take him to Quebec for a bigger mountain experience. He snowboards.
Anybody else into snow sports?
