It's because men are simple creatures. They're not manufactured the same way as us mentally, spiritually or emotionally. Well I should say some aren't. There could be many reasons for being evasive. It might include they lack self-confidence, could be self preservation, could be ignorance or arrogance. I bet you most of the time, the guy themselves wouldn't even know what emotion they're feeling or how to respond to something which catches them off guard or makes them uncomfortable.

Boys are raised much differently than girls...they are taught to keep their emotions inside, because if they show them it makes them "weak" or less of a man. I have a son that I'm raising to be a man, but a man that should communicate what he is feeling and if he needs to cry, then by all means cry. I do know that men are also wired differently, but there are alot of men out there that are very open, honest and "commuicators".
The man I'm with now tends to be very quiet until he gets to know a person. He opens up with me now, but it didn't start like that. You mentioned trying to change the subject....and he will do this from time to time, just because he isn't sure how he is feeling about the topic, or hasn't made a decision regarding the situation. I bring it to his attention that he is changing the subject, but also let him know that when he is ready, I would like to discuss it.
Hope this helps a little....these theories are based on my own experiences and what I have learned through the years...doesn't mean it applies to all men by any means!

i think its the men you are talkin to, they might have something to hide like the fact they are with someone or married. Most of the men around here are straight forward and if they post on the threads regular well it gives you a bigger picture of them.....
