Good one about human stupidity, busdriver.
More seriously though about this infinity business.
Something is said to be finite when it falls between two points. No matter how far apart they may be. Even when it is not possible to measure the distance between these two points, but the two points are distinctly definable, then this is not considered as a definition of infinite.

Infinite is when the human imagination cannot even perceive where the furthest point can lie. So infinity is not something that a human can or cannot measure, but that thing which the human brain cannot conceive.

This is different to the idea of no beginning and no end, which is considered eternal. A circle has no beginning and no end, but it is not eternal!

If I'm not mistaken (I might be) Galileo Galilei once wrote "No pencil is as fine as your brain and no paper is as big as your imagination"

If anything we can at least imagine the concept of infinity.

well said "killingtime"
The imagined is achievable, happens all the time or in time.

How about 'the opposite of finite'; finite being easy enough to understand - unless you are more finite than most!

No, I think I'm as infinite as the next person that dreams in colour or black and white and orchestrates them , looks for all the colours in black and white as they are being reflected or absorbed, makes love in the rain under a tree in a thunderstorm, eats a meat pie and coke and enjoys it as much as caviar and Louis Roederer Cristal wink wine

To a baby the house it lives in is infinite.

To a child the world is infinite.

To adults the universe is infinite.

Infinity is beyond measure or comprehension. professor
