with information such as: "i have a nice car, great house..."and other possessions? Is this how the people of today introduce themselves? Why is it that eventually you complain that women just want your money, your possessions?
Is this how men are made today?Men, do you look into yourselves? Are you a good guy just because you give money to women? Is that what you have to offer?
Am i in the wrong century?confused

My brother has the nice car, the dapper suits and the bling. He also has the attitude and the debt.

I don’t want to be like that.

dear, there is nothing wrong in having stuff, you work hard to get a life you've dreamed of. No problem. But just think it's from other dimension, starting a conversation by telling what you posses...and unfortunatly there are a lot of profiles with this, i think it's rediculous...or maybe makes part of a society culture? If so, what's the result you are expecting? conversing

There is only one reason to have the 4.8 turbo Landrover; and that is to pose. I have no need to pose. I am secure in my own worth.

To most if not quite all Landrovers ‘off road’ means on the drive or in the garage. If you want to go off road next a Jeep.

Would you like to be kicked, in the head, with iron boots?

Of course not - nobody likes that kind of thing, forget it, it's a dumb question.

You know what is funny? That SOME women actually go for that kind of man.

For a good laugh you should also check some of the female profiles - they do make for a fascinating read.

Yammers once said that we are like on display at a supermarket. And he was right. Sometimes people (male and female) are attracted to the glitzy packaging and little much else.

Ah, coffee break over...

Solitare,

I agree with some of your points but disagree with some others.

There are quite a lot of women who work hard and have just as much, if not more, than some men. It goes both ways.

Wait! What the hell am I doing? Let the women take this up....screw this!

Well Cristina, I could agree with you that starting a profile like that is not the ideal way of introducing yourself to the CS bunch, and I think that people who do, do not get the right feedback. It is also true that none of us are expert profile writers, except maybe for the occasional CV, which does not include much about ourselves, but more about our abilities to perform.

In introducing myself, I have always tried to keep a very low profile. I have always reasoned that if women liked me that way, they would surely be more than delighted to discover at some later stage that I have nice cars and big houses, and some other abilities and achievements behind me.

On the other hand, I would not like a woman to go out with me for what I have. That would never form the basis for a solid relationship.
I have in the past been approached by women who "heard" from others that I had "desirable" possessions, but as soon as I found out that their interest was not in me but in my possessions, I had no alternative but to ask them to leave.

This is my vision.

thanks for your usual teaching words solitare.
We can't really avoid the spoiling on kids in terms of toys, but we can make it better while they grow.Meaning, transmit to them that it is not what life is all about...
Eat loads of meat, get fat and stay at computer playing video games for ages before the age of 10-sign of wealth...
This is not necessary, it wont add anything constructive to our kids...

"most women have nothing or very little; they want what the males have; it's a mating ritual of our culture, of our society at large". So better make it easier by telling us straight away about the possessions! Is this why some guys work hard? just to have women they like,to be able to aford the most expensive?

Your possessions might even come out by emails, before meeting, but it has to come out in a humbled and secundary terms...
If you are rich, she will find out anyway...
So, give yourself to her, the greatest challenge and conquire is the one that you have to give yourself, when you have no choice but to perform your beeing...when everyone is expecting your words, and they come naturally, no matter how you shake, tremble...
