A lot of people might find it much easier to get to know you better using the forum format. Sometimes there are thought provoking threads that can give people a peek into a person's character. I much prefer to read through the threads to see how people express themselves.

Yes friend, it's real. Or at least it CAN be. I met my fiance' on this site thanks to a very innocous thread about James Taylor CD's. It turned out to be simply the first of many, many things we have in common. Neither of us has left the forums and we still send each other flowers, even though we now share a home and our lives and, for the most part, use the same computer.
I'm happier than I've ever been in my life and it seems that I owe the lion's share of my gratitude to Connecting Singles... We are living proof that it can indeed be real!

People like the forums because it's like meeting in a public place. It gives them the opportunity to find out about someone. I personally want to be friends first. That is the beginning for me. Just like Kansas said, he and his lady found common ground in a thread and it was the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Very few people want to start with private emails and IMing. If someone on here interests you, join in on a forum with them, find out what they are like. And good luck.
