Bush has come up with an answer to all our problems, the man and women dying in Iraq; the plummeting dollar, etc.:

"A day of prayer"

Do we not deserve better?

We do need to change our way of thinking. WE all need to start thinking PEACE thoughts.

When the majority of people in the world are criticizing all the bad things going on, the FOCUS is on the BAD. ALL the attention is going to 'creating' more BAD. Yes, we need to be aware of what is going on through the media BUT we don't need to inundate ourselves with it all through the day. IT is our THOUGHTS that are the CAUSE. The media is the EFFECT. So, we need not blame the media. When we constantly hash and rehash problems WE are keeping it all alive. The more that we invite this and persuade others to feel angry and resentful and revengeful we are making it worse. WE NEED TO LIVE IN THE SOLUTION.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in debating politics and economics as long as such debates are carried out in a civilized, objective, constructive and adult fashion.

Now that we have that out of the way we can start insulting each other….

If given a choice between Bush's "day of prayer" suggestion or Bill Clinton's "I feel your pain" rhetoric- I'll take prayer ANY day. I honestly feel sympathy for the individuals who look to someone else like a president or government for the solutions "to all our problems". While unfortunate, people do die in armed confilcts- a simple reality (so YOU may enjoy the comforts you have grown acustom to). As per the decline of the dollar- as if this was a newsflash and the first time such an event has ever happen. It's happened before, it will happen again- non-issue. Heaven forbid anyone mention the highest Dow Jones mark ever and low unemployment figures. Dollar up, dollar down... housing up, housing down... unemployment up, unemployment down- just natural cycles that occur. If you're sitting around wringing your hands waiting for any president/politician/government to come up for solutions for your life- might I suggest in investing in hand lotion to prevent wringing your hands down to the bone.

I too have grown weary of the Bush bashing threads. 2008 is not that far away and will give those who vote a chance to get exactly what they deserve (just like all previous elections).
