As my profile suggests, my son and I will be moving to Texas in a few months. The problems is that I don't have the foggiest notion as to what city. So how bout we try this? Tell me about your favorite Texas town (whether you live there or not), and why you think we should move to there.

I'd appreciate all the help I can get on this one.

Texas will be a great place for you and your son. Are you relocationg for business?
If business finds you near Houston, there are some very nice suburbs I can tell you about. If relocating is more central, then the Waco, Dallas or Ft. Worth area would be nice. I now reside in a small town south of Dallas.
I'll help if you let me!!

I'll take all the help I can get.

We're moving for personal reasons. Frankly, we just need a new place for a new start (I think I got 1 left in me). I only put Waco on my profiles cause it seemed somewhat centralized. Just figured if I could talk with some real Texans for a spell, I could figure it out from there. The truth is that I don't have a clue where we are going.

Well.. I would love to help.. but I live in a very small town about an hour Northeast of Dallas. I have never liked the big cities because of the traffic. I hate not being able to get from place to place easily. But.. good luck to you wherever you land.

I actually prefer smaller towns. Don't get me wrong. Big cities have their place. I just don't much care for being around too many people.

It also depends on what kind of work you will be looking for. Check out Greenville, Texas. It is not too big, but does have the necessities. (Walmart!!! lol) There are lots of job opportunities there, and it is not too far from Dallas if the need arises. Again, Good luck to u in wherever u choose to move.

I agree with Paul. Houston does have the best cost of living along with most jobs. Another thing great about H-town is that blue collar workers can make as much as white collar workers here and that is rare in ANY city and it is pretty common here. The liberal thing is too true. LOLcomfort
