we discussed a couple options tonite...Meeting in Calgary..Flying somewhere down south together.. It is about 6 hrs each way for us to get to Calgary. Hence half way. Talked about going on a trip. .How exciting. i am totally game for this.

She also has two weeks off this summer. A drive or bus ride was also discussed.

Never had a long distance relationship so i am willing to give this out a try. I am a very curious person so i'd like to see the pro's and cons to this kind of relationship.

Hey, i can have a girl and still keep my tv remote, dance naked in the house, and eat chicken wings til i puke coz she will return home at some point. Yahooo. God i hope i dont fall in love to quick coz i may have to alter plans and share. sigh LOL just kiddinglaugh

hey Darren

just be yourself, enjoy the communication amongst the two of you....be open and frank and trust me, the initial encounter........well, it will either make you weak in the knees OR make you run back to the tarmac.......

if you ARE weak in the knees.....it IS love.....you just don't know it yet and if you are running back to the tarmac, then one of the opinions on here may just have been correct!

I did it, met someone whom lived in Montreal...we were communicating on the phone for at least 6 months......we finally met, I flew out there (he said that he didn't want me to drive 5 hours alonegrin )

the love connection most certainly was there......

but shortly afterwards, I was "lovingly" told by him to "sell everything and move her.SANS the cats" (his words exactly)

I bailed........moping

good luck to you babes.....let us know what happens!kiss

Well i believe there is a new trend in relationships happening. LD relationships are one of those.
Why? well i dont have all the answers but IMO the divorce rate plays a large part in that. People are also liking the freedom of being apart at times and then meeting up when they can. Works for some!
Less Drama as the relationship is not faced with daily quibbles.
Financial scares too. Anybody who has been divorced nows exactly what i am talking about. Hello can you say hit the pocket book!

How?
you must be speaking a common law relationship then. This is basically the same as marriage nowadays. I think its 12 months and then everything can be split or is it 6 months?

Anyay, i am speaking more of a new trend with Long distance relationships. If you not living together permanently there is no financial risk. (Assuming you dont give money or do other questionable things).
