Hi everyone: that was truly a sad situation and I heard on the news that the Mr benoit's brain was sent for analyisis and it was found that he had dementia or a touch of it.
That is all I caught. I tried to commit suicide 3 times, almost made it last time (3 days coma) My ex husband did it and my father -in law plus many friends and a boyfriend. Thank god I have found the right meds to be on! You never know what chemical imbalance is in a person's head or their circumstances. I always wondered If it is a coward's way out or not. I never wanted to die I just wanted the pain to go away. I fond happiness within myself and can talk openly to the right people about it, so feel free to ask anything you would like to know and I will answer honestly.applause dancing comfort

Actually visual exams of slices of Chris Benoits brain matter reveal areas of "dead" brain matter.....grey areas appear under microscopic exam....simliar to appearance of a brain of an individual with dementia...causes of death of brain cells differ...but resulting personality changes occur...his is likely related to long term steroid use....especially in the frontal part of the brain that controls mood and impulse control....and that is often seen in individuals with dementia also...a normally calm person changes into a violent aggressive emotionally unstable individual...very very sad indeed....however hopefully this will be a huge wake up call for professional sports...to address the issue of steroid use.....I find it bizarre that Barry Bonds is being given the actaully Home run record..when its very clear he has used steroids for years.....

I think there is alot to be learned as yet .....in all the toxins in our environment and how that is affecting our mental health...did you know the number one reason people in North America see their GP or seek ER treatment is related to mental health issues? The same stats occur in the UK.......I think that is very interesting and needs to be explored further....

I have been doing some more reading today about this.....apparently the Neurology expert that Chris Benoit's father has allowed to pursued studying his brain post-mortem..is saying steroids are iffy in this case...but more likely cause of brain damage evident is repeated brain injury....apparently repeated concussion and brain shattering is likely the cause...this again speaks to this in professional sports happening repeatedly...ANYHOW! it is very sad

When a person reaches the point of contemplating suicide or homicide it is a really desperate place to be.....I encourage all to take this seriously....sometimes people put off things as "a cry for attention" but it must always be taken seriously whether it is your own thoughts or the thoughts of a friend or loved one..always always taken seriously......

I wish everyone well who struggles with thoughts of self-harm.I see this all the time in my work..and truly there is help available..no matter how hopeless life seems or can seem..there truly is help available.....wave

Like everyone else there's been times when I've been so lonely, frustrated, rejected, inferior, and/or hurt, and thinking there's no one who really gives a damn so that I just felt that I didn't want to go on.

All I had to do to snap out of it was go into my sons' room while they were sleeping and I stood there thinking "here are two totally innocent lives that depend entirely on me. "

There are still times when I feel defeated but I'm a fighter and determined to triumph over adversity. I've come a long way already and with God's help I will come out on the other end just fine.

Chris Benoit? Nope, never heard of him til now but then I never was a big wrestling fan. handshake
