Has anybody seen the news on Australia paying kickbacks to Saddam Hussien while selling wheat under the food for oils program?

The question that has been asked many times, "How can these people afford guns if they can't afford to feed their children?"

Here are a couple of links to news about this -

More Australian Wheat Board enquiry and more proof all the time that the new aristocracy (politicians) really don't care if people like Saddam or his followers has got money to buy bullets to shoot at your "National Guard" sons and daughters. After all it's not THEIR sons and daughters in the front line. Their families won't be grieving youth lost to a bullet that was bught in the name of "greasing the wheels of trade".

The latest is that 17 intellegence documents sent to Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) were not read or even acknowledged by the Minister Alexander Downer. It is his job to see that Australia abides by UN Sanctions, and Australians including soldiers are protected overseas. A bullet bought by an Australian Wheat Board kick back can do more damage to the average Australian than most things. They are doing damage to our allies soldiers.

The Prime Minister, the Minister for Foriegn Affairs (DFAT) and the Minister for Primary Produce (department in charge of the Australian Wheat Board) have all been brought before the enquiry and have all used the "I didn't know about it." defence. Despite internal Wheat Board memos and intelligence documents of the highest order circulating in their departments ... "They didn't know."

The problem with right wing politicians is that the margin between conservative and fascist is small and becoming smaller. In this case it doesn't matter who gets killed by a 7.62mm bullet as long as the flow of oil and the trade in goods back keeps flowing ... Oh and if a politician has to send a relative into a war zone, well we can find them a nice job back in the bulk store somewhere.

But their greatest coup is to keep it all off the TV screns. There will be no return to the mistakes of Veitnam because none of the voters will be talking about it. Over 2300 US soldiers dead and moving to 3000. Those bullets weren't grown on trees people.
