I hide all emotions. As a woman you would appreciate how necessary that is for a man full of hopes.wink

Besides, on CS where words take place as interaction - you really must believe that 'words are there to conceal thoughts'!'.

hi wave...how shall I name you?...confused Dracula?...laugh or CD?...laugh

I'm guessing from your post that you are one of those Europeans who are anti America, right?
I will stick with my point of view but I'm gonna add your opinions to that.
So, why is a lot of Europeans anti America?
1. they consider Americans as stupid ignorants
2. they are jealous of American economical power
3. they feel that America demands loyalty from the rest of the world and they don't like that

(to make it clear: I try to look at the phenomenon from the side, I'm not writing about my personal attitude toward America here!!)

so, David, are we getting an answer to your question?...

The United States of America is one of the most wonderful places in the world - full of amazing landscapes and vast resources........it's just a shame about the people who live there!

rolling on the floor laughing

The USA is the place where most arabs would love to emmigrate to......strange as it may seem to us.

My last wife was American - I loved her dearly and stil love her as a friend, but I must admit that I do not feel happy with American culture; especially in the South.

It's all 'You are either for us or against us.' For such a rich country so many people live in poverty - and I don't just mean financial poverty. The majority of Americans don't even own a passport - their outlook on life is mostly ethnocentric.

They are NOT more productive per hour than most Europeans - they just tend to work long hours and two weeks 'vacation' is the norm....... plus many people have no medical insurance. It's a land of vast contrasts and not very 'civilised' in the sense that we Europeans call 'civilised'.

The United States was and mostly still is the breadbasket of the world. They have also saved our sorry asses in two world wars. We should be grateful, I know.

However, we do seem to dislike Americans in general and the reasons, I believe, are a combination of envy for their good fortune, anger that they had the initiative to leave the 'old world' behind to emmigrate when our forebears or ourselves failed to do so, AND a certain degree of dislike for their culture (or lack of it).

Americans can be really nice people; it's just that they come across as being so crass and totally without any style.
