Do any of you out there believe in long distance relationships. I mean if you met someone through this site and you got to know him or her gradually but you lived in another country. That doesn't automatically mean that you'll never meet this person does it? The world is so small these day's, not like fifty years ago where it was almost impossible to travel to another country. I would think you would want to get to know someone first, before making any kind of commitment. Whatever happened to getting to know one another first?

Meeting someone online or somewhere else comes down to the same thing if truth be told.Either way u have to talk first before u decide anything and then u do what you think best.
Wether it's someone who lives down ur street or half way around the world u need the same ingredients for it to
work....honesty,respect,love....distance is only a matter of space.
If u were married to or dating a soldier who had to leave for another country, would u break up because they are far away? Don't think so....so I see no difference. It depends on the people involved.grin

personally I am not a supporter of long distance relationships...personally my life is complicated enough between kids home and fulltime job...adding long distance travel with that for a emotional relationship is just too much...I imagine that if your schedule was more open maybe it could work but would it not be hard to integrate two very different lives if so far appart and isn't that the desired outcome?

I agree that it can be complicated but it can work too, needs more juggling but it's doable.
If u were to meet someone close to home and things really worked out, eventually wouldn't there be talk of living together? Same scenario with the distance thing, all needs to be talked about and worked out.
A bit more complicated yes for sure but in my eyes no different than any other relationship....but that's megrin

I agree!

Why not remain optimistic and open? Why close doors to oportunities you don't know exsist?

I know that long distance relationships are not for everyone, and there negative aspects as well. But there are more and more of these relationships going on and people choose them for different reasons.

Being far apart gives you a chance to maintain your individuality, more time with friends and/or family. No arguments over toothpaste caps, toilet paper, or razors lol.

I feel that being apart enables you to get to know the other person on a much deeper level, if they are willing. When your apart you have to talk. Communication and understanding are the real cornerstones of a relationships.

My thoughts exactly. Some people obviously have no adventure in them. That makes life so boring. They say Rome wasn't built in a day.

Well here goes my 2 cents tongue

Long distance relationship I beleive would be stressful on people who have no patience and make hasty decisions just to be with that person.

Especially to does who are financially burden and cannot take trips to be with each other.

I beleive someone with no responsibilities, alone can venture out there because no one is at risk but only yourself if things do not work out.

dunno My 2 cents!
