For a tasty low fat italian salad dressing I buy Uncle Dan's italian salad dressing mix (pouch) and instead of using oil like the instructions say I use more vinegar (or 50/50 vinegar & water if you don't like too strong)...

easy cesar salad

Romaine hearts (or romaine lettuce)
1 bottle Kraft cesar salad dressing
sour dough croutons (or whatever you like)
1 package grated parmesan cheese
sprinkle bacon bits (real or artificial)
mix & serve

I've had so many compliments on this salad & its SUPER quick & easy!!

This one is kind of cheating as it uses boxed macaroni salad..but I add other special ingredients...

1 box kraft macaroni salad
2 tbsp relish
3/4 cup presidents choice salad dressing (has to be this to give it that tang, not mayo or miracle whip)
1 tbsp lemon juice
4 hard boiled eggs, choppped
several pieces of old cheddar cheese diced
3 green onions chopped
1 stalk celery chopped
1 large carrot shredded
1 small cucumber peeled and thinly sliced
3-4 dill pickles sliced

Mix all ingredients together along with cooked macaroni and seasoning included in box. It is really good with a nice maple smoked ham.

Here is a few that I like personaly...

1st one is a simple one that I got from my aunt and had never thought about it and its yummy. You just make a regular salad or a ceaser salad and add crumbled up zesty cheese doritos in the salad. Adds a nice different taste and soooo good.

2nd one...Cold Pasta salad

-Cooked macaroni noodles
-Mayonnaise
-Bag of mixed garden salad
-Cut up celery or any veggie of your choice (optional)
-Grated cheddar cheese

-Cook macaroni as you usualy do. Rinse it in cold water and then just add the mayo (just add as much as you want for desired taste), garden salad and cheese and other chopped up veggies of your choice and mix together and let chill in the refridgerator for a bit and serve.

Enjoy :o)

Marinated salad

brococli
cauliflower
tomatoes
peppers
fresh mushrooms

Chop vegetables into bite size pieces, add italian dressing and let marinate over night.
I put it in a ziploc bag and shake it up a couple of times while it's marinating.

It's delicious.thumbs up

Thank you so much for your posts! I am going to have a really cool file with all these recipes!

Here's one from me...
Balsamic Marinated Sirloin and Asparagus
An elegant dinner from the grill. Serves 4

Ingredients:
1 boneless beef top sirloin steak, cut 1-inch thick (about 1-1/4 lbs.)
1 lb. fresh asparagus, trimmed
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
2 Tbsp. olive oil
1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil 1-1/2 tsp. Dijon-style mustard
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper

Directions:
In a small bowl, combine vinegar, oil, basil, mustard, garlic and sugar to make marinade. Place steak and 1/3-cup of the marinade in a sealable plastic bag. Close bag securely, turn to coat steak and marinate in refrigerator 15 minutes to 2 hours, turning occasionally. Cover and refrigerate remaining marinade. Meanwhile, bring 1-inch of water to a boil in a large skillet. Add the asparagus and reduce heat to medium-low. Cover and cook 2-3 minutes or until asparagus is just crisp-tender. Drain asparagus and combine with the reserved marinade tossing to coat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Place steak on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill uncovered for 17-21 minutes for medium rare to medium doneness, turning occasionally. During the last 3 minutes of grilling, arrange asparagus on grid around the steak. Grill 3 minutes, turning once. Season steak and asparagus with the salt and pepper. Carve steak crosswise into slices and serve with the asparagus.

Grilled Rib-Eye Steaks
Make sure it is at least 1 inch thick for maximum grilling, tenderness and juiciness.

This is an awesome marinade for steaks, my favorite!

How about a head of lettuce, tomato, onion and thawed out cucumbers with some ranch dressing. That's the fanciest you'll get at my place.head banger
