I see what youre saying, it seems to me that every thread that isn't about kissing the one above or below, or just about general bs, are just joked away by some...
I thank you for your efforts to try to start some serious discussions, also because I see this as a great opportunity to learn from others, and share different views and opinions!

If you expect disciplined debate and discussion here you will, for the most part, be disappointed. It is a public forum and people will post as they see fit despite the rules.
If you can learn to ignore those posts that do not address the issue, or that you find insulting, and persevere with restating the topic in your responses rather than engaging, it is possible that eventually people looking for discussion will join in.
When the OP becomes distracted by inappropriate posts etc. there can be no discussion.
That said, to call a thread an 'invitation to intellectuals here' is open to misinterpretation immediately. It implies that only one type of person is welcome to take part; so people come here ready to be offended.
An unfortunate choice of words.
