why i want to move ( Archived) (10)

3 years ago there was a shooting a few houses down from me and someone was shot

2 years ago there was another shooting near the same spot a year ago but this time no one was hurt

later that summer there was another shooting were someone was killed this time near the mail boxes (..i have to walk to the mail box ya know the ones you need a key for)

that fall some kids of a gang that has ties with one in new york were arrested for killing an old lady ...that was at the end of my street

there was another raid this spring on a house near the end of my street and they found illegal alcohol and cocain

the house across the street from me the people there had an arguement with some people outside and guns were shown but not fired

well two nights ago there was a drive by on my street no one was hurt thank the goddess.

tonight there was a raid on a house across the street and down a little ways from me.

the houses near me get raided about every 6-8 months

i hear gun shots almost every night

and i believe there may be dog fights going on as well ... a few weeks ago i was almost attacked by two dogs running free but they got sidetraked and attacked a girls puppy that she was walking at the time ..the puppy was saved and only had a few stratches on him. i was walking my farrets at the time and thought they may come after me . i got outta there as fast as i could. the dogs around here are pit bulls and they are mean.

a few years ago my house was broken into and a computer was stolen
and some other electronics


needless to say i really want to move

i have friends and family in virginia beach and i try to go there at least twice a year just to get away from that. everything you said sounds like a typical weekend around here. but unless you can afford to get out the "hood" its gonna happen regardless of city or state

virginia beach in general is a very nice place to live... if you dont mind tourists and traffic but every place has its bad side and thats where i happen to be the bad side.... there are very few here and i happened to find one

don't blame you. i've never quite understood how people can get hold of guns so freely in the states. in the uk there are obviously the odd gun crime but they are very few and far between. personaly, i've never heard a gun shot in my life, never known anyone to own a gun. neither would i know how to get hold of one (not that i would want one). the uk has many many faults but our government have to be applauded when it comes to the total ban on guns.
