I'm not renown for compassion or sympathy (or even being remotely human for that matter), so my words of wisdom shouldn't come as any kind of shock.... GET OVER IT!

Thank you oh wise guru Bourbs - doesn't help a female's dilemma but at least good to hear a male's point of view.

Some things in life you can't change so I guess you either accept them or be true to yourself whatever way that goes.

The 'old and wise' shaking their heads in disbelief at the 'young and foolish'. It's a ritual that has been practiced since time immemorial.

Every generation makes their own rules, and the 'old school', having outdated values and beliefs, is clearly unable to embrace the present and unfortunately can do little more than sit around and reflect on the past.

I have to disagree on your statement; "And it is obvious women learn faster and adapt faster than men". It appears to be the women who are bewildered and confused by today's society.

You can change how you personally play the game, but society sets the rules

Yes i was reading today about how feminism is no longer and the girls these days say pfft to barbie and they are becoming the raunch society eg. drugs, strip clubs, prison, hard liquor etc.. these are the things that
young girls these days are looking to emulate due their role models of Brittney, Paris and Nicole, Madonna etc. They disdain the working women of our generation, they want to be kept women, not work but have all the trappings of society, a rich mummy and daddy to provide them with a car and holiday house etc.. and credit cards then find themselves a rich boyfriend to match. So there you go.... yes we might be old fashioned Gen X's but at least some of us work and live and support ourselves the old fashioned way, by getting a full time job.

On a better note am feeling a little better this week, have a new man in tow... but it is borderline on whether we have that much in common. But he is really keen to meet me so will see how we go. Not jumping into anything... this old bird is getting slower but is an awful lot wiser...

Thanks Drags and Bourbons for your tea and sympathy... like annie says it is always good to get the male perspective, but yes we pretty much know the answers we just like to talk about it.. cuz thats what us females do the best...... chit chat chit chat... anyone for a tim tam...??
