Freedom of speech, it reminds me "Homère" and "l'Illiade"...

Logos, Greeks word that means speech and reason at a time.
In the society that Homère describes, the one of the XIIe century before Christ, two things prefigure and prepare the democracy that will appear seven centuries later: the liberty of speech and a worry of the other taking soon the shape of the hospitality, soon of compassion.

To the court, the citizens pleaded themselves their reason.
On this point at least, each had the liberty of speech and this liberty, if one made a good use of it, if one pleaded its reason with oratory, if one made coincide speech and reason, gave birth the justice.

Freedom of speech, it reminds me also nowadays, the "Declaration of Human Rights" in Europe:

"The freedom of speech is not only worth for the "information" or "ideas" welcomed with favor or considered like innocuous or indifferent, but also for those that knock, shock or worry: so pluralism, tolerance and the mind of opening want it without which, it is not of "Democratic Society ". "

Freedom of speech....
What about it on our Forums then??

It means the power to live well, move on, grow, relate to
others, gives you the ability to receive love and to give
love. Having that freedom gives awareness of the wonderful
intelligence you possess, if used wisely.

If any part of your speech has been taken away from you, you
understand how devastating it can be.

Freedom of expression is one of the most fundamental rights that individuals enjoy. It is fundamental to the existence of democracy and the respect of human dignity. It is also one of the most dangerous rights, because freedom of expression means the freedom to express one's discontent with the status quo and the desire to change it. As such, it is one of the most threatened rights, with governments - and even human rights groups - all over the world constantly trying to curtail it.

The United States, probably like no other nation, has recognized the importance of freedom of expression to safeguard democracy and grow as a nation. However, this does not mean there are no efforts to try to curtail it. The internet has often been the target of this efforts, as it provides practically everyone with the ability to communicate their ideas to wide audiences and escapes the ability of the state to control it.
