its just a term ppl use

i have 2 kids

its not a bother to me,

it dont always mean just kids either

it can refer to someone emotions or mental health at the time

or ties that someone has

for example a family member, or an ex hanging around

It sounds as if you have ran across a one who is quite immature and selfish, huh? I am sorry someone has spoken to you in that manner regarding your child. very mad very mad Unfortunately there are those that feel that way about children. My guess is....they have no children or if they do, they are not very close to their children. Don't waste your breath or your time with someone of that caliber...wink wave comfort hug

I have to agree...Though, I have no children of my own I hate the term baggage and i have even witnessed childrem questioning their parents as to if they were a mistake or not because "baggage" sounds like a mistake that you carry around because you have to... not because you want to... Children are our future so call them "baggage" and see what good they do in the future...They are better than that...

I really don't think people mean children when they say baggage.

I think they mean get your head together and get over past sadness so that you don't import it into a new relationship with someone who probably had their own stuff to get over.

I think MOST people mean it that way

granted that baggage doesnt always mean kids but most single wo/men mean 'a wo/man with a child' it goes bk 2 a post i was reading ,he didnt want a woman with 'baggage' bcos the 'baggage' wasnt his , evry1 has diffrent things they bring 2 a new relationship ,it may b that they cant get over an ex or they hav trouble with trust ,i dont think that kids shud b put in the same category as those things and cant stand those who feel they shud ,if kids r classed as baggage then wot r us parents called ?

I do believe that in my 35 years on this planet that I have never seen a woman express a viewpoint on this issue that reflects as much intellect and wisdom as yours does.

i do understand that baggage means all types of things im not stupid ,angry yes ! so if a wo/man is taking care of elderly parents is that classed baggage ? yes why ? a wo/man who has kids frm previous relationship is that classed baggage ? yes why ? some1 who cant get over said previous relationship is classed holdin 'baggage' now the term then i can understand but 2 put it on a kids head ?thats wrong and bloody rude ,all kids (no matter how many u hav mr ducks) r an extension of the parent and of most familys ,correct me if im wrong ?

I agree with you farley and I also recall the post you are speaking of. Some people DO classify the things you have mentioned as "baggage", but not everyone thinks that way. wave

because its just a term, and i dont think it is meant as an insult in a lot of cases

i see "baggage" referring to something that restricts your freedom

and some ppl dont want this in a relationship

and fair dues to them

horses for courses,

and at the end of the day ....... if this term upsets anyone, fine, the person that has used the term is not the one for them

I think that when they are referring to kids as baggage what they are really saying is that they want 'all' of your attention for themselves

the other connotation I reckon I go along with too - please have yr head together before you come a calling laugh

I think it is very insensitive to refer to children as baggage, Guy's if you don't want a woman with children, just ignore her posts or profile. I was an unwanted child, I didn't ask to come into this world, and when I tried to check out, they locked me up.

Children deserve to be treated with the utmost kindness. And if a woman come with the added love that children can bring....you get twice the love!! For the most part,....you get what you give

Can you name anything...anything as wonderful as a child's laughter??????
