Okay, in an effort to combat the overbearing boredom in here, I must resort to telling stories...Most of us know of Local Legends, The haunted house, the wild bunch, the Crazy people down the street, etc. In my case, its the wild bunch........
There were three brothers in the Boilermakers named Ace, T.C., and Bones. Thats all I have ever known them as. They had quite a reputation of drinking and partying over the years, and one story of thiers sticks in my head. Seems that Ace and T.C. were staying with Bones, as they were all three working on the same job in Brunswick, Ga. Bones had just bought a new Caddillac, and come the weekend Ace and T.C. asked if they could borrow it to go see thier girlfriends in Savannah, Ga., roughly 80 miles away. Bones said ok, but you got to be back by 6am monday so we can go to work. So Ace and T.C. go to Savannah and spend the whole weekend drinking, partying, and generally being stupid, and when Sunday night came around, they remembered what Bones said, and even though they had not slept at all during the weekend, they started off to return his car. Well, they got almost there, when T.C., who was driving, fell asleep and ran the car up on the curbing in the middle lane. He reacted to this and the car went into a tail spin which took it over three lanes and it finally came to rest in the emergency lane on the other side of the road. Once the screaming stopped, Ace and T.C. jumped out to examine Bones' car for any damage. The only thing they found was a large hump in the driver's side floor. Of course, T.C. starts going nuts, says Bones is going to kill us, we done dented his brand new car! Ace, always the east going one, said, hey man, no worries, I got my tools in the trunk. We'll just fix it. So Ace gets his 4 pound hammer and wham, wham, wham, and after a while, T.C. takes a turn at it, and more wham, wham, wham. Finally, it kind of looks flat, so they go on to meet Bones. Upon getting to Bones' house, (its 6am now), he runs out to meet them and says, "Man, I tried to call you all weekend, I hope you didn't get in any trouble. I forgot to tell you that I left my .45 caliber pistol under the front seat". Ace said you could lay down and look under the car and see a perfect mold of a flattened .45 caliber pistol in the floor of the car. Seems it had just slid under the carpet!
