Well its been nearly 5 yrs since my separation and 2 since my divorce has been final and I am finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. I have gone from misery and despair to near financial ruin and now it feels good to have control back where it should be.
I just want to say to those newly separated or divorced...hang in there, I did, and my kids are the real winners. There have been times when I wanted to run and I understand fully why some dads do...and my battle is not over but it is getting easier.

Good to hear Scott. Sometimes it's a long road back but to see that light even a dim one is a good sign.wave

There was a time when there was no light. I was driven nearly mad by emotions and feeling betrayed. It has indeed been a long crawl back to near "normalcy" ...is that a word?
Hey I even bought a new car last week, so I must be doing something right!
I just want to encourage the single dads out there to stick it out.

I know all too well that feeling of "complete darkness",...those feelings like you just been gutted by a deer antler,....but as everyone kept telling me (and from what I used to tell people without having gone through it myself), "Time'heals",....."Just keep learning to love yourself",...."Be strong",.....and you know,...after awhile it really does come to pass. The sun does shine again.

Glad to hear that you world is experiencing some sun again,.....you deserve it! I like the new vehicle idea! Maybe in the new year I'll go get something,....something that can deal with all the fricking snow we're getting here this year :-)

Here is to sigle parents,...moms or dads!! Everytime your child smiles at you, you KNOW it is/was worth it!!!

And kudos to parents in general! The biggest of jobs and responsibilities!

lmao! rolling on the floor laughing

My ex and her lawyer have freight-trained me so many times I feel like a set of tracks already! Of course the Federal Government makes it all possible with their archaic laws and totally biased system. It's like Gov. assisted financial destruction! If they were smart they could bypass the deadbeat dad problem with a fair system...then a lot more would stay in their kids' lives.
