gillyloves69: margaret thatcher the ex prime minister of great britain and lots of conservative people in england like her ( or right wing republican people in america ) would easily answered that question...and take swift action as well ( with no debate if given the power ) by making laws to
1.keep down the working classes by introducing anti trade unionist laws
2.not encourage the rights of women ....because THEIR VICTORIAN VALUES tells us that women should be at home raising children
3.not encourage ethnic minorities reduce imigration and have very right wing ' old school ' ideas about minorities to KEEP THEM IN THEIR PLACE
thats their opinion not mine ..........................
I would want to review some of her speeches before I comment on any of the above. Interesting~

An after thought Gilly.
So if all people who are right-wing are inherently evil, what would be the equally inherently evil aspects of the left-wingers? You've got me curious.
I think there is some confusion in this thread, and in our culture about what is a "right" and what is a "freedom" or "privilege". A right is something that, according to the framework of our constitution, cannot be taken away. So it seems to me that we were moving in the right direction of establishing rights for all people, race, gender, religion independent. But more recently there has been a shift in the opposite direction. Consider the "detainees" at Guantanemo Bay for example. We also seem to be allowing some of our privileges to slip away. How much liberty any people are entitled to is directly dependent on how much responsibility they are willing to shoulder. As Americans we seem to be less interested in the responsibility of managing our government, and as a consequence are losing our liberty to do so.

( or right wing republican people in america ) By distancing yourself from the above comments Gilly, there's the implication that those people would be evil. Otherwise you'd be singing their praises?
gillyloves69: you're winding me up are'nt you? ...you are are'nt you ?
you're floundering in the wilderness of favearism
I'll look up favearism....meanwhile, can you clarify your view? I really don't care what you think, but with the OP, you made implications and later assertions. I'm just trying to understand your thought process. That's all.
Indyfella: So it's safe to assume all left wingers are only good?
I woudn't assume that Indy. That is the furthest thing from the truth I think. I think the old parties should die simply because they don't work anymore. Elections have gone the way of a GD miss America contest. The prettiest person wins.
It's time for parties that will restore civil rights and get the greed out of government. We are destined to the fate of Rome the way we are going.

by the way i onced turned down an oportunity to meet margaret thatcher at no downing street when she was prime minister as a member of a news film crew ( lighting man) because i was too busy in a meeting with a bank manager to borrow money to invest in property
