janjun: LEarn the history and who killed the children.

Everybody knows that Turkish soldiers are the gentlemans. They don't kill childs. And this is true as 2 x 2 = 4. Which cannot be changed by lying.
Hope you have told that to the Armenians,or what's left of them, and to other Minority Groups!
Turkey has some Huge Issues to resolve before it can decide to join the rest of Europe!
Until then,there won't be much Trust!wave

Bulgarians, Cypriots, Armenias, Switzerlands... These are the countries, pardon crowds that have issues to be resolved.

The subject of the topic was "Turkey's membership to EU". You, changed the subject to another think..

My opinion and argument is "Turkey should NEVER JOIN to union". I am not arquing to living for EU people. Or some other crowds trying to live together under umbrealla of EU.

Before claiming Turks, Ottomans and all other eastern countries, nations DON'T FORGET TO LOOK YOUR MODERN CULTURES AND THEIR DRIVING FORCES.

Reckon your desire to stay out of the European Union is matched by the desire the other contributors to keep you out.

My opinion is however unchanged by what I have read. Turkey is as welcome to me as any other country to be part of the European Union if a majority of its citizens want it. And I hope they do.

Well, we are speaking of the EU here right? It is already part of Europe (and extravagant as the Turks loves to be, they are also part of Asia ...)

Historically we have learned to be very, very afraid of the Turks ;)

It is all a matter of modernise the countries respect for human rights and democracy, together with a huge bit diplomatic ability.

Yes, I am sure Turkey will enter, as in many of the other new member states it was more about getting the old, conservative governments replaced with new thinkers.

For example, finally make up with the Greeks and the Cypriots, it is about time. The money laundering in the north part of Cyprus (now under Turkish control) would not be able to continue in either case.

And then the Kurd's right to a peaceful life needs to be tackled as well.

Issues, issues, issues... But yeah, no one ever managed to stop the Turks before when they had set their mind to something, so I guess soon enough you have got it all right.

As a country and as friends I have always liked Turkey and the Turks, but I also have good friends in the Greece part of Cyprus as well as Kurdish friends. There are a lot of hot blood out there and it needs to cool down, simply.
