patriotism means more than an ocon. It's in our hearts, not in a piece of cloth flying over a building. It's in the way we treat other people...in the way honor our service members. America is going through a surge od psuedo-patriotism. It's not really patriotism. It's revenge...for 9-112. We are striking out at anything we see as "un-American" Because O'Bama doesn't have a lapel flag, he is un-American. He is serving his country in the political process...but not American enough because he has no lapel flag
Let me ask a question of all these psuedo patriots> WHERE WERE YOUR FLAGS AND BANNERS ON...9-10????
Do I get upset when a person shows disrespect to the flag? yes. Do I support an ammendmant to stop destuction of a flag?? NO. Why? First of all, define a flag!! How many of you have thrown in the trash those little tooth pick flags on cupcakes?? Are they not flags, yet they are thrown on the ground or discarded into piles of trash. BUT they are flags.
Patriotism is in the heart...not in idol worship

I love the passion. I have a flag over my mailbox, everyday......My day raised me to be pround to be an American and after living in Haiti I kissed the ground when my plane landed.,

ok...where do you draw the line on what constitutes a flag????
Everyone will try to push the issue further and further, to prove they are more patriotic than the other!!
So no...I have not gone over the edge. Those who argue over O'Bama wearing a lapel flag are the very ones who would argue over some silliness like a "flag" on a cupcake!!
A lapel pin is very tiny compared to the one on the Capitol building...yet O'Bama is accused of being un-patriotic for not wearing one. This shows how trivial and pathetic people can be who are pushing an agenda!!
