When do we as a nation say enough is enough? Money has been given to New Orleans time and again to fix the levees and the money was always squandered on other things.
If any private citizen was considering building a house with their own money, no one would build one on the coast on a piece of land that was below sea level. Common sense should have a say in this, instead of everyones knee jerk reaction to their "feelings".

Even the Indians told the two French Brothers that they would be idiots to build a town where New Orleans stands because of flooding.... They did it anyway. So, he who does not learn from history is destine to repeat it.
If out government feels they need to rebuild anything on the site of New Orleans..... maybe the name should change to ... "New Washington DC" The wait for the next big blow and it might take them all out to sea.
