Are you afraid of dying?
Do you have fears of after your gone, and if so what are they?
How do you think you would spend your last days?
Is there anything you need to say before you go?

Will fill in my response at a later time.

I have faced death and died and was brought back to life.
I will tell you what I saw.
I was in a liquore store in heaven where I didnt have to pay for nothing lol.

Just j/k I never saw or remember a thing when i died
But if i knew i was going to die i would want to make up with all of my friends and spend as much time trying to be happy.

Good thread Cherie

Wow! What a deep thread Starlite, Good one!!!

After seeing my Dad take his last looks at my family and I and seeing him take his last breaths I have to say I am less afraid of dying than I was. There has been a lot of times I have felt like dying but I know what it would do to My loved ones. I heard that if you have unfinished business it may be harder to pass away. I think I would want everyone to know I loved them before I died. If I knew I was going to die I would try to be as positive as I could be but If the pain is unbearable I'd probably just want to go. I need to say Thank You for all the Angels on Earth and on Heaven.

I have to say after ssing my Dad pass away that I am alright with it. It would have been more painful to watch him suffer any longer and we all were there so that was very special.

I guess what I would want to say to my loved ones is don't be sad, be happy for I am in peace now. Live your life to the best of your abilities and I hope something special from my passing helps you in some way.

hi lion
i found my brother dead early one morning, and he looked awful, the only thing i wanted to know at the inquest was did he die quickly,
last year my dad died at home alone and it still haunts me now that he was alone and the state he was found in as the cancer had came away from him

I am very sorry to hear those very sad stories. I am not afraid of death because I belive I will see my friends that have left here. As for the people I leave here I will do my best to watch over them. I know what you say when you say that you have been dead. I have also been dead. If it hadnt have been for my 18 year old brother I would have died before the ambulance ever reached me. I cry everytime I think of it because I never really knew what the human spirit and the love of a sibling can do for someone.

I am very sorry about your loved ones and can see where you are coming from. Hopefully when you pass it will be a peaceful experience for your loved ones after a very full, very long life. I watched my Dad change in appearance from his cancer and he was almost unrecognizable in the end. Didn't matter to me because I had my time alone as did everyone after he passed and laid my head on his chest to feel the last warmth I would feel from my Daddy. I hope you find peace Hotlips, I do empathise with you and yes it would be aweful to go through what you have. That is why I am so grateful the family pulled together because It made his passing more special and made us realize what a strong family we come from.

Well right now I am afraid of dying cause Brandon and Liz need me and I really haven't found that one great love so I'd like to put off dying for awhile if it's at all possible.I know there is a better place on the other side but I know what this life is like,I know and love people here, dont know many folks over there in the afterlife so I think I'll stay here as long as possible. My one wish is to die with dignity and not be hooked up to tubes and such ,brain dead because people can't let go.
I just hope when I go everyone knows I love them, not just from my words but thru my actions. If I knew I had a terminal disease I would spend my last days with my family doing fun things and sharing memories of the good times.
Good topic Cherie.

I'm not afraid of death, but at the same time it's not something I look forward to. If I knew that I was on the brink of death, I would try to spend the time with all my family and friends. I would also make sure my will was updated and make a mends with everyone with whom I had disagreements. I would also do my best to make sure that no one was sad by letting them know that this is nothing they have control over and to remember the good times with me, not the final days.

This is a thread that really hit a spot in my soul.

Thanx Starlite.

I have a poem to add because it is about death:

"In The Event Of My Demise" By Tupac Shakur

In the event of my demise
When my heart can beat no more
I hope I die for a principle
Or a belief that I had lived 4
I will die before my time
Because I feel the shadow's depth
So much I wanted 2 accomplish
Before I reached my death
I have come 2 grips with yhe possibility
And wiped the last tear from my eyes
I loved all who were positive
In the event of my demise!

Let me respond to my own thread now.
I work in Pallitive care,so death is something I see on a average basis, and it never gets any easier to watch. But its not the ones that I am caring for that leave me breathless, its the loved ones they are leaving behind. The ones in passing are pretty much already dead, there bodies, and most times due to pain there minds as well,so it is a peacful blessing when they are finnally at rest.

If I was to die today I have to say that I am not afraid of death.I believe that I have let a legacy of sort, and that memories are something one can never take away from someone,so I will not be forgotten.
I have made peace not only with myself, but with those I may have hurt through my actions,or my inabilities to be myself.
I have had an amazing journey, sure it wasn't alwats pretty, but the ride was most definetly one that I walked away with knowledge, integrity, solitarity, respect, love and so much more.
Sure there are things I would like to do before my time was up,but regret,I have none.
What would bother me is that my sons, regardless of there age still need a mother. However my values have been instilled, and my power of love, would be with them forever, and that and the fact that time will heal all wounds is enough for me to say that, them like me,are strong, and would eventually get by.And if I had passed and sensed that I was needed ,I am a beleiver that I would not beable to cross over, and would be watching over all that needed me,until my time was to come for my "final" rest.

This is a poem that basically sum's up my belief on death.

Do not stand by my grave and weep,
For I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamonds glint on snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grian,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
In the soft hush of the morning light,
I am the swift bird in flight.
Do not stand by my grave and cry,
I am not there,
I did not die.

The Lord has sent me angels, they are angels I have known.
In life they were my comfort and through them I have grown.
In death they still watch over me and pray for my dear soul.
They prayed my life was bountiful and prayed my life was whole.
They are not really gone though for they have never really left.
My heart will always keep them with thoughts of happiness.

Let Your Angels Talk To You

There are angels in Heaven but there are also angels on Earth. They look just like you and me. They have families , their jobs, their hobbies and their likes and dislikes. In actuality, they are people just like you and me and maybe we are angels ourselves. Some people may be an angel to many and some may be here for that one person to save. They probably don’t even realize they are angels because their heart and spirit are genuine. They can sense who you are inside and have an uncanny ability to help you to believe in yourself and to help you realize why you are here on Earth with their true concern. They heal your soul by recognizing the needs of your spirit and understand what you need to guide you to your God given potential. They are there to rescue you in times of woe, just in time to save you from doom, to guide you in your blindness and set you on the right path. Angels have no boundaries, spirits are spirits whether they are incased in a living breathing body or have been released from their Earthly shell. They could be the ones who quietly whisper wisdom in your troubled head or they could be the stranger who makes your day and says all you needed to hear somehow. They can be there to save you from serious harm as an accident or be there right at the right time to prevent you from doing something disastrous. In whatever form an angel is in and no matter who they are, they are a gift from God to you and a gift from God in you.
