I do enjoy a lot of music Europe has that doesn't always cross the waters and we obviously don't get that show over here. I do often try and find downloads of stuff that's on the European charts that we don't have. Unfortunately we are stuck with Canadian Idol and American Idol, yeachhh! By the way, don't know if it was sarcasm in the earlier posts, but I actually do love ABBA music.
hey there well i ireland the charts are mostly dominated with pop bands such as westlife (an irish band) and then pretty much the same as your country i think, well except for the likes of some irish indie bands dont know how they do it
Oh, I realize there is a lot of less than stelar music that stays only in Europe too, but a lot of local acts that don't go international have something to offer. Plus I like Europe as my friend had a single hit the charts there that did nothing here .
excellent be gratefull that you dont have to listen to some of the stuff that comes outta here lol some of the irish music is really bad what kinda music you like
I actually don't have one type of music I'll listen to, just stuff that appeals to me. My mixed CDs will range from Tori Amos to Disturbed to Sarah Slean, ABBA, KISS, Tears for Fears, Karen Stever/Boshart, Beatles, Ramones, Soundtrack music(Danny Elfman is my favorite). Pretty much anything that strikes my fancy on any given day. I don't understand the concept that people only like one type of music. That often turns out to be that they like the icentity of the lifestyle that their choice represents. So are there any newer Irish groups that are worth checking out?
I'll have to look for that. I do like to support the artist by buying their stuff, but when I can't horray for the internet. I am one of those ones that uses the internet to "sample" music so I can know whether I want to buy it or not. Really is handy especially when you are talking about having to import stuff.
no too many on the scene right now but you should google irish radio stations and see can you find an irish station called 2fm they have the best in mixed irish music and you'd really get a feel of the irish music scene, you can also check out 2 good albums brian mc faddens irish son and james blunts back to bedlam both very very good and worth a listen, james blunt is an english singer and hes brilliant
I do like James Blunt. Have't heard McFadden yet, but will do some online hunting tomorrow. Unfortunately me computer is having trouble recognizing it's sound card, so I can't listen online right now. I have to download stuff and burn it. It's an extra pain in the butt.
