What are you all thinking about cooking up to help take a bite out of this freaking cold?
Me? Perogies with dilled mushroom sauce and some awesome farmer's sausage...feeding two 13 year old boys; wonder how many dozen perogies they will eat?

Pepper steak and curried rice with sweet tatters in molasas
windrider91: Didn't know 13 year olds would eat anything but hamburgers let alone perogies.
I am a lucky mom, they do appreciate good ole stick to your ribs grub. They do love the burgers though and pizza, but when a 13 year old active and athletic boy has grown from 5'4 tp 6' in less than a year, he is an eating machine...grazing 24/7 But it is okay, he is healthy and growing and I love him and his eating machine buddies who stop in for eats!!!

Hmmm, that's what I'm having for dinner. Perogies and kuby with fried onions and smothered in sour cream. It was going to be farmer sausage, but I forgot to take it out of the freezer.

Loner1960: Just bologna sandwichs for me, for supper. I prefer to eat my big cooked meal at noon. Today that was chicken thighs and rice.
Note to self: tomorrow, remember to take roast out of freezer and put in oven.
Hi Loner, that is what always was like on the farm...supper was usually just the leftovers or what have you...except when it was harvest, then we took a big supper out ...wow! That was a complete flashback, in a good way, {sitting in the back of the half ton eating supper and getting the last of my grandpa's sweet coffee out of the sealer! And then taking turns riding in the combine or the truck, super cool in the dark and you are all of 8 years old. Remember no matter what direction you looked, there were the lights of the district's machinery as far as the eye could see...} Times have changed
Pork roast (cooking as we speak), roasted potatoes (with olive oil, garlic and spices), a lovely tossed salad and what the heck, I am breaking open a NICE bottle of Shiraz......
My thing? a bottle of wine goes GREAT with everything....
Extra lean Hamburger meat, simmered in diced tomatoes and tomato sauce, garlic, cayenne pepper, chili, fresh mushrooms, yellow, red, and orange peppers. Penne pasta to be added in after the smell makes us even more hungry.
Great stuff to eat in this kind of weather. Multi-grain buns from Costco,....... YUM ! Raw Veggies on the side.
