Saw him LIVE last night - what an amzing show! Just hope I have that much energy when I'm in my 70's.
Was great to have company, for a change - been going to concerts on my own for the lasr 4 years. I'm sure the people behind us were thinking "look at those 2 old farts holding hands & OMG - kissing!"

Hey I have a question ... and yes ... I realise its a breach of the rules... but I am trying to find a blues track from way back when.. I think the 1940's
Its called something like "Organ Grinder"
And I think its by Big Mama Thornton
I heard it once on a Uni radio Jazz program... loved it and could not get hold of the DJ to find out if I could obtain a copy...
So any of you Musical Guru types out there that may be able to help me..
naturally I would prefer to purchase it in the original format..be that vinyl or whatever...

"Willie Mae ("Big Mama") Thornton (December 11, 1926 – July 25, 1984) was an American rhythm and blues singer and songwriter. She was the first to record the hit song "Hound Dog" in 1952. The song was #1 on the Billboard R&B charts for seven weeks. The B-side was "They Call Me Big Mama," and the single sold almost two million copies. Three years later, Elvis Presley recorded his version, based on a version performed by Freddie Bell and the Bellboys. In a similar occurrence, she wrote and recorded "Ball 'n' Chain," which became a hit for her. Janis Joplin later recorded "Ball and Chain," and was a huge success in the late 1960s."
