Used to love them, and could even do jumping twirls in them.
Now I can't wear them because of an ankle that I've sprained so severly too many times that I was supposed to have surgery on it years ago (nope...not unless I can't walk). So, I have a lack of lateral support in it and can only wear shoes with good support of the arches in the foot. Hence why I own 9 pairs of Birkenstocks. They support the feet and ankles so well that standing in them for a few minutes relieves the pain from walking around my house barefoot or doing Tai Chi. (First student my Sifu has ever seen that heals by taking a break IN their shoes.
