Yes, I think it's shorthand for lifes experiences, but I also think that the word 'baggage' is more often than not used negatively. I've seen profiles that say 'nobody with baggage need apply' sort of thing, but how do you get through life without it? 
Though I think it more accurately reflects life experiences/mistakes that haven't been dealt with, and thus come back to haunt us in new relationships/situations until we learn.

it is very much those life experiences. But, I have seen some people refer to baggage as having kids and that is something i cant understand.
I understand that some people may prefer to be with someone without kids and well thats up to them. However only someone who doesnt know the joys of children would refer to them as baggage.

Well put gorarth so many men i have met in the last while have referred 2 my bubs as baggage nice 2 hear from a grown-up 4 a change!!!

Got agree with Mu on that it can be seen a negative point, I have one beautiful daughter from a relation nine year ago. I wouldn’t change a thing to suit anyone els, Single parents should be proud.

i adore my bubs and i don't expect a man 2 be a replacement dad but the guys i've met are usually only ever interested in 1 thing which ain't for me and they see it as i want 2 settle down and be a family
