Like the death of a massive star...
Witness the core collapsing as it consumes the last bit of nuclear fuel, the reactions cease and the core loses it's vital internal heat and pressure. As the core collapses it gains heat and pressure rapidly again to the point where it explodes in a spectacular supernova! The remains being propelled far out into space, and in-turn seeding new dust-clouds spawning the birth of new stars...
CS is not Dead! It is just undergoing a transition, turning over a new leaf...
Life will continue...
