Ok I had a similar post like this about the word moose and just thought of another one. howcome when yue eat pasta you can have one strand of spagetti but not two spagetti's? Spagetti is always spagetti even in the plural!!!! WHY is this? Same with macaroni - its a group od shelled pasta so why not call it macaronis?

I am not sure about this, cause Italian is not my specialty, but I think that the letter "i" at the end in itself indicates plural. Therefore it is not necessary to add another plural indicator.

professor You are right!! Spaghetti is plural and its only spaghetti. You can have a dish of spaghetti but not a single spaghetto (singular)
