Yes this is sooooo true!
I recently met up with some old mates from high school, and I could just tell that we all changed oh so much, and that we would never be able to go back to the "good old ways", and that we would'nt want to either, because we'd all grown up!!!
The things that kept us together as teenagers were no longer important to us, and after taking that out there was nothing left...

True................I met up with a friend recently who I hadn,t seen for 16 years(knew her from I was 7)
Boy had she changed, or maybe I had?
Will always be there but............................we are not the people we were back then, life has taken it,s toll on us and we both have changed soooooooooo much but I will always be her friend
Seems so doesn't it, we all change at different speeds and in different directions. Have met a few friends that had seemed to change in the same ways that I had and that was very reassuring.

Sometimes it can be like that.. but a true friendship takes up where it left off... have one friend i see very rarely.. but step into the room and we take up where we left off........ i have known her 18 yrs and our lives are very different and have changed drastically over the years... but we still seem to have a common bond and am very glad we have...

Maybe it depends on what the friendship is based upon. If it just that we both enjoy doing the same thing (e.g. sports) those friendships dont seem to last.
If the friendship is based on deeper connection, however, not much changes.
I have a close friend who I meet typically once a year, have known her a long time and I can say that we both know (and like) each other. I expect that friendship will continue to last.
