patrickthomas: I think this has been happening for some decades now, the 60's had a revival in the 80's and so on. It is good and it's fun to see a new generation take to what was being listened to before they were born. Mind you I am fond of classical music and I was not even a glint in my grandfathers eye when a lot of what I listen to was around.
I think you have made an excellent point there pt. If you look at it more closely its a great way of marketing companies hitting three generations in one. especially where music is concerned.
ie. now that we have a resurgence of 80s music the parents of today grew up listening to this type of music there parents remember their kids listening to this also. and now you have groups like west life remaking the same songs and adding a beat to them.
so you have the parents buying the songs for the kids and also the grand parents doing the same.
hence hitting a bigger market three generations, and in another 5 or 6 years it will all start again with the 90s.

I still listen to Pink Floyd, and feel sure it will still be listened to in a century to come.

Hey man Floyd are a brilliant band and don't apoligise for listening to them, did you see them in Live8, they were brilliant unfortunately I dont think they will ever play live again
