I have sent an IM to a girl a few times, and each time, i noticed that straight after me sending the IM, her status immediately changed from "online now" to "online today". I shes not interested, she should just say so.

TD- that has nothing to do with you IM'ing her- your 'online ' status shows as online for at least half an hour after you log off.
most people( myself included) don't accept Im's- unless they know the person, and have been emailing them previously, so don't feel offended by it. better to email them and let them respond- if they don't respond to an email- either it is too brief( i don't reply to ' hi, how are you?') or she is not interested. it is a brutal game out there so take your time and wait for the right one

It seems a bit stupid though that your status would show as "online now" if your not online, it you log off, it should change to "online today" straight away.

I never answer IMs either cos it doesn't say who they are from at the time. Just says "someone" at CS... When I check them afterwards in mailbox they are always from people thousands of miles away.

Stick to Email.

Wouldn't worry about that Deise. I logged into my own profile a few days ago and it told me i i was "online within 5 days" but I was quite obviously online at the time. and had been most of the day.

I always answer emails (even if far away) and mostly chat on IM unless am busy already ( ) even if just to say I am busy

Keep trying Desie, but good advice to email or flower someone first - swoon but I love a flower and nice message they still make me smile and answer back - but hey I am only 3 weeks on here
