By the same token Ciaran do you not feel that some of us are fated to be single.

I suppose the thing is to not expect too much on a first meeting..hold back on our expectations and hopes and just say we are meeting a friend for a drink and a chat..

maybe not spending too long emailing or chatting on msn before meeting is better as this encourages the development of an idealised picture of the other person which can only disappoint.

we also need to be open minded and give the other person a chance even if they don't live up to our expectations...maybe our expectations are not realistic in the first place.

The thing is to just have fun with it...see what happens.

Our minds fill in the blanks that the internet leaves, making the other person seem just what we want, its called fantasy and its natural for us to do it, and nothing wrong with it.

Oh god back onto my Batman fantasy again aren't I rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

Hi there
Very true... if your talking to someone for a good while and you get on brilliant and its the picture you build up in your head of how its going to go.. you cant help doing it because on paper you both seem perfect for each other... Real life is so different... it has happened so many times.. and you sit there thinking I cant belive this... happened a few months ago to me and am still in shock at how there was absolutely nothing there... and i mean nothing... but it happens and have no choice to put up with it...
as you said best thing to do is meet as friends and u will know if there is anything there or not and decide to meet again...
i also agree about giving the other person a chance but sometimes you just know if its going to be for you or not and u have to go with your feelings...

hope to see u saturday wave

thats it yea from chattin so much you get all built up thinkin its gonna go great, but then when that happens its just a big dissapointment,i try to not talk for too long and meet up sooner ,because then you have nothing really to say on the first date except for reviewing things you already know

Yeah might not be a bad idea.... but dont panic cause if ur pissed i will rescue you... me being T Total an all....grin grin

Seriously though we will be there and introducing everyone... none of this i will stand on this side of the room and u stand on that side... ah no we are all too old for that even the 20 yr olds.. we are there to all meet and get to know each other.. not be afraid to talk to each other..

so if there is anyone going on their own please approach myself or LL when u come in and we can take it from there... dont feel your on your own because your not..a lot here havent met before so we are all in the same boat...
