Is there any nice, down to earth, normal ones left out there?
I have been on this site for a while and seem to chat to alot of guys but have not really hit it off with anybody. I chat and try to find out about them, ask questions etc, they seem more interested in getting my phone number, msn, yahoo what ever it is. . I was just wondering have any of the girls been talking to normal ones. ? ?

Sweeping generalisation alert: The problem now is that there's a mixed message from women (told you it was sweeping). I've had a friend get a lecture on equality and respect because he held the door of the library open and offered to let the woman beside him go through first. For something like that to happen is really humiliating and even more confusing! You've no idea what reaction you're going to get to what you may think is a polite gesture so the path of least risk is the way to go. The converse to that is how rarely people will say thanks to polite behaviour - I'm sure everyone here has been caught holding a door as a multitude wander through with nair a word or glance.

I walked in behind them and told the guy (just loud enough for the woman to hear) that it was lovely to see a man with manners and that some people appreciated kindness.
He was delighted but the woman just glared at me and walked off. Guilty conscience I guess.

I can imagine Ciaran. People with no manners when they're sober are usually totally obnoxious when they're drunk.

Unfortunately I'm normal, old (well I'm not old but I feel old) and boring. In fact I'm the most boring person I know. Trying to change that though.
