trulymadlydeeply: yeah ur right. Its a very hard decision to make especially when two people love eachother and have tried to work it out. My friends told me that Im a stupid fool to go for him since we know from the very start that we're opposite... that it will never work it out.
I told him already my concerns but in a bad way... and my heart is suffering because of that. both guilt and pain.

It sounds like both of you need to look deep inside and see if there is a middle ground where you can live happily. If not, then you'll have to give yourself time to heal, and then find someone more compatible, and he will need to do the same. Love doesn't always conquer all, and opposites are not always the best of relationships.
If there is middle ground that will work for both of you, then get there and start making it work.
A good relationship is about compromise, communication, trust, and respect...all encompassed by love. If any one of those ingredients is missing, it won't work for the long term.

Thanks Druidess. Sounds like you're a woman with great wisdom. Yeah ur right. Love doesn't conquer all and sometimes lovers who thought like this have the tendency to hold on and tried very hard to keep going which in the long run will eventually hurt eachother without even trying. and we both need time.

Why didn't you just state from the beginning in the very first post what you did to break his heart- that would have some bearing on the solution.
Did you just say something you shouldn't have - perhaps in anger or on the other hand did you sleep with his 3 best friends and their dogs too?
