I was going out with a man who was engish, and who was in the British Army. He saw alot of bad things, of course; friends being blown up, atrocities on both sides.
How would you feel if you got involved with someone like that and your views were very different? Could you come to a cease fire in your relationship, or do you think it is a waste of time to try and agree?

I think it's healthy to have different opinions and diff beliefs. Just so long as they didnt try to ram it down peoples Throat I would not mind...........
If they continually brought it up and tried to influence people with it, like religion say, I would be gone............

Hope your well.
Thats very true. The problem I found was that unfortunately the soliders are indoctrinated to the extent that they dont necessarily know WHAT they are fighting for, apart from "doing their job".
I wondered if other people had experienced this kind of conflict in a relationship.

But I do agree with FG............I could never be in a relationship with someone who was very religous as from my experience everything comes back to it......
