1. the belief that it can work out (if you don't really believe it, then you'll find an excuse to not follow through)
2. the willingness to invest in the relationship monetarily, fidelity wise, with perseverance and resilience
3. the willingness to accept that another culture will view things differently to you
4. self-security that comes from knowing yourself, being honest with yourself, and not holding as your security materialistic things such as a house, or job, or money.
5. a desire for adventure (LDRs are an adventure).
6. true love for the other person. (not easy to know first up whether it is just infatuation or real love)

You have said it perfectly again...
I remember the adventure my daughter and son in law had. Never once did he make and excuse to her...nor she him. I remember when I realized it was love for them and not just some chat room role-playing King Author and Lady Guinevere...I knew before she did...lol. They carried on their long distance relationship just like you and your wife. He was a 22 yrs old young man at that time. With the wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of life that most men literally don't desire. It's there!.....they just don't desire it. I see your photos and feel the love, respect, honor, and value for one another.....as well as life. It's a beautiful thing.
I'm glad you've stayed on this site.....so you can set the example for others. You show men and women what is needed if they really WANT it....
