Is there anything you would love to do but haven't done because you are alone?

I would love to go to an Opera. Have never been to one but think I would enjoy it. We have the Wexford Opera Festival here every October and I have always wanted to go. None of my friends want to though so I've just never gone.

I would love to go to a ballet too. I have been to a couple and loved them but haven't gone since my mother died. Again my friends are not interested.

Sad I know.

As I said... a strange thread.

I went to a local production of The Pirate Queen the other week, have seen Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Thats as operatic as I go.

The ballet you can keep.

I'd love to do a parachute jump. (will do this one once I have lost the weight)

Someday I'd also love to write a song. (have no head for writing or poetry)

I am lucky in that I have a lot of single friends so there is usually someone available to get up to mischief with me.
Even though I can never convince any of them to sign up here or come to meets!

Most of my friends are only up for drinking and dancing or the occasional trip to the cinema. None of them are interested in theatre/opera/ballet etc.

I think I was born in the wrong era.

In here hiding from the faker! Anyhoos, I want to write a book, a few comedy sketches and I'd love to do that parachute jump too which is strange since I suffer from vertigo! There agai, I'm afraid of my own shaddow!

Next time an opera comes to Wexford I will go with you! I work in that area and wouldn't recommend one of the Wexford Festival ones for a first trip... can be heavy going! A nice bit of Puccini or Verdi for a first outing!

The thread is neither strange or the thought sad - i think you'll find lots of folks have the same issue, that's why we're here - make a friend or 2 with the same interests and hopefully get to enjoy them all together.

I've traveled to a lot of places over the last 10yrs but i've never stopped to enjoy them, its always been with work or with sport and i've never really relaxed while i'm there.

I'd love to go back to visit some of the places, but i don't like doing things on my own, I can travel to San Fran for work on my own no problem, i just hate the thought of going some place for a week or 2 to relax on my own...

maybe that's why i'm a grumpy git at times....
