Christmas goodies all gone I think. So..... Off to the shops later to buy vegies for soup and other boring healthy foods.

Hoping the roads have thawed a little so I can get back to walking. dancing

Joining weightwatchers tomorrow at 5.30pm. Was very good today!!

Bought a load of veggies, chicken fillets and salmon fillets.

Also bought a yoga dvd. Can't do high intensity workouts because of coronary artery disease (diagnosed last summer.. can't even manage stairs without breathlessness and palpitations.), so doc recommended yoga for now.
wexlady41
Well I had my first weigh in at weight watchers yesterday evening. Why do their scales always weigh heavier than mine??

Anyway... Have been really good all week. But the cold today is making me want to eat rubbish. Haven't given in but very tempted.
FriendlyFeline
Yeah, the cold weather makes you want to bulk up on hearty stews and steaks. Choccy biscuits too. blues

But I have been excellent all week and got rid of what I put on over Xmas. applause

Heading away for a weekend in two weeks so plan on being good till then.. devil
wexlady41
Well Done.

Biscuits don't interest me. But I love tortillas and dips or bacon fries when I'm watching tv.

Really need to find some sort of exercise. Has to be gentle though. Thinking about yoga.

I'm glad this snow is going. Can't wait to get out walking properly again. Was still doing some but couldn't walk too fast because I was afraid of falling.

Managed to lose the few pound I put on over xmas so happy about that.

Aqua Aerobics tomorrow evening. Should be fun.

Being good so far...until today.

Was too tired, cold and hungry to wait for anything to cook so I had McDonalds. Did look up their website and worked out my points. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!

wexlady41

Well you have over 5 months before the meet so a stone should be no bother. Even 1 pound a week will get you to that goal.

Cut a pic of a dress you like out of a magazine, cut your head out of a pic and stick it on the dress pic. Then put it on your fridge. grin

Positive thinking.

Thats a good idea Rita thumbs up

1.5 lbs down. Total lost so far...5.5 lbs.

I'm happy with that considering how much I ate on Friday..sausage on a bread roll, 2 generous slices of fresh cream sponge and a few home measures of vodka..on top of my points.
wexlady41
Yep. I did that the last time I lost weight.

My fridge is integrated so I can't stick anything on it. I have my "initial goal" skirt hanging on the outside of the wardrobe. Should manage to get into that in about 3 weeks or so..if I work at it.
ladylumps
Well done Clo thats great its hard to actually imagine 5.5lbs I used to nip up to the Supermarket every week after the class and pick up my loss in Lbs of butter - and you know what I wasnt the only one!!!!!

Keep up the great work yay

well done that great. i have my weigh in tonight, fingers crossed. my first weigh in since the week before xmas so im nervous

Thinking of doing the mini marathon this year...walking it not running it!!! Applications are online or in the Herald from 3rd March so plenty of time to work up a bit of fitness.

The charities that come to mind are

the Irish Cancer Society as my mother died of Multiple Myeloma and my dad has it too, (although his is early stage and not progressing Thank God).

or the Irish Heart Foundation as I and all my family have heart problems.

or the Make a Wish Foundation which I think is a great organisation.

Open to suggestions if any of you have any.

Oh we did it for Simon - I think I would do it for Simon again wave
wexlady41
I did it in 1995 with my sister. We did it for the Adelaide and Meath Hospitals (fundraising to build Tallaght hospital) as Dad had been there for 13 weeks in 1994 waiting for his bypass.

Really enjoyed the day and raised nearly £1000 between us.

I think it would be great if a few of us did it. Wouldn't be able to train together.. but we could encourage each others training...set goals among ourselves.

Hi everyone!! I hope everyone can meet their goals this year!! I wish everyone the best!!comfort

As for me, I am still trying to shed the excess fat around my waist. I have been trying the MUFA diet, anyone familiar with it? Anyone have any experience with it?

Exercise is not helping...I am at the point where it's all about diet now, sit-ups are not doing anything. The food during the holiday season was just too good to pass-up!! Unfortunately I have people around me that like to cook and I like to eat!! laugh

Anyone have any experience with the colon cleansers like ACAI?

grin cool

Hiya wave

No I have never heard of colon cleansers or used them. What way do they work ??

And I've never heard of the MUFA diet either what is it confused

LL
rubendario
Colon cleansing from what I have read eliminates toxins built up, over years of junk food eating, in your colon that also affect your liver and kidneys over time. It also reduces the swelling of your stomach area and makes you look thinner by removing these toxins.

How Do Colon Cleansers Work?

MUFA foods are foods with rich amounts of MonoUnsaturated Fatty Acids(MUFA). These acids actually fight fat and are used in addition to your regular diet or used exclusively when snacking to fill your self up and curb your appetite. An example, would be to add olive oil, avocados, and almonds to your salad. In between meals you get hungry and snack on natural peanuts, almonds, and walnuts to curb your appetite.

MUFA Diet

I hope my explanation and links are clear!! professor laugh grin
