Blade Runner

Blade Runner Movie (1982)

A blade runner must pursue and try to terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator.

In the futuristic year of 2019, Los Angeles has become a dark and depressing metropolis, filled with urban decay. Rick Deckard, an ex-cop, is a "Blade Runner". Blade runners are people assigned to assassinate "replicants". The replicants are androids that look like real human beings. When four replicants commit a bloody mutiny on the Off World colony, Deckard is called out of retirement to track down the androids. As he tracks the replicants, eliminating them one by one, he soon comes across another replicant, Rachel, who evokes human emotion, despite the fact that she's a replicant herself. As Deckard closes in on the leader of the replicant group, his true hatred toward artificial intelligence makes him question his own identity in this future world, including what's human and what's not human.

A Movie ahead of its time that still today looks as fresh as it did when it came out in 1982. Based on the book Do androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K d*ck, the film tells the story of a Group of Androids (Or Replicants) who have escaped an off world colony and returned to Earth to find a way to halt there impending demise through shutdown from there creator Tyrell. Retired Blade Runner Deckard (Harrison Ford) is brought back to hunt them down and "Retire" them.
The film is a feast for the eyes and the brain. You are bombarded with images of a future that is not so far removed from the truth and considering it was made in an era when computer effects where in there infancy and expensive, the look and the feel of the piece is one that lives long in the memory. The story is immersive and leaves you asking many probing questions as to who is real and who isnt by the end. The direction is flawless by Ridley Scott and as always with a Scott Movie nothing is left to chance and the whole project feels real and believable.
I cant reccomend this movie any higher other than to say If you are seeing it for the first time you are in for some treat.
