I asked the moon

I asked the moon
And the sun knows it not
I showed her my burns
And the moon mocked me
And as the sky did not look right
And I wasn't getting better
I thought how unfortunate
And the moon mocked me

I asked the moon
If she still wanted me
She said
"I'm not used to care for cases like that"
And you and I
We were once so sure
And we did say a few times
It was just an adventure
And it would not last

I don't have anything to tell you
And not much to make you laugh
For I always expect the worst
And the best makes me suffer

I asked the moon
If she still wanted me
She said
"I'm not used to care for cases like that"
And you and I
We were once so sure
And we said a few times
It was just an adventure
And that it would not last

A great man once said:
Winter never fails to turn into spring
and though we're so different
you and I
when we're together
even the cold of December
feels like the middle of May..
Mermaidon
LadyMorgana60 wave It's inspired from a popular French song by Indochine. I wanted to translate it because although the words express simple ideas they nonetheless also express deeper meanings and concepts of our human nature.
