Obstinance_Works: I think the danger is that users with not much going in their lives forget that they are online and amongst strangers and start to police what is and isn't said.

In theory the internet should be, for better or worse, a bastion of free speech because it's so impersonal and meaningless. It should be a place for differing opinions, heated debates, varieties of humour and experimentation free from the dulling and regimenting effects of politesse and correctness.

To say it's meaningless is , how do I say this.
I'll just say this, kids are bullied on the internet and end up killing themselves.
People lose jobs and their livelihoods based on some of the things they say on the internet.

Sorry I don't buy the notion of just cause it's said on the internet it's meaningless.

Perhaps it's showing people for exactly what they are, and in some cases it means they are complete and utter a**hole cause that is what they show.

Given what is on the net, the better question might be, can one have any freedom from so called 'free-speech'; it's like trying to find 'Truth' on the net, it's out there but it is probably a lie and that is the only truth you'll find. It won't set you free either!laugh
