I found her lack of sympathy and professionalism quite disturbing.

I think she should be talked to (at least) by her boss. I'm shocked there wasn't more sympathy in her voice-I get that their job is to remain calm so that the person who is in need of help keeps calm as well-but I cannot believe she kept saying "tell the officer when he gets there" it's like...what? You could tell that poor girl did not want to hang up the phone-10 years being held captive and she took the biggest risk ever for herself and the 2 other victims-very sad story indeed. To heck with the operator, this story had a happy ending and that's all I care about. :)

I watched this video and couldn't believe that a squad cars weren't sent out right a way.I know the the police deal with crank calls but yes the dispatcher should be fired.

The girl said several times "I'm Amanda Berry, I've been in the news" and it went right over the dispatch operator's head.
It appeared that she didn't know who Amanda Berry is. Now the question is, whose fault is it that she didn't know about the women in Cleveland who have been missing for 10 years.

Have the women been in the news constantly M.? After 10 years I would assume not and dont see how emergency operators could possibly know the names of all missing people.
I have listened to the call and IMO the operator did their job as they should.

am I reading the same story? the girls escaped to a neighbors home and then together they called 911 and the police arrived.

He or she had 30 cars, within time, good for her/him!
Keeping her calm was and is the them most promising way a person hearing so much life defying moments with the only connection within 10 years.
I commend them. He said Stay where you are!
Of all he gave her the best outside words he could.
As terrifying it was for her, as terrifying it was for him/her as that would not have registered straight away in his/her mind.
So much is counted and yet to ever get a call like she called , why do you thing 30 cars pulled up.
He still passed the call to whom ever received it.
HELP THEM NOW!

The 911 operator did nothing wrong that I can hear or read - she determined that the victim was in a secure spot and that they were sending police right away and asked for a description so that they can capture the kidnapper.....
911 stays on the line, dispatched the police, tries to obtain information so that police can have a description to catch the bad guys.... what more do you want?
