So rotoinfo.com has posted a supposed list of the players who tested positive for steroids in 2003. This has not been confirmed. I find the use of performance enhancing drugs in pro sports horrendous. Little kids look up to these guys as role models and if they are taking steroids it's like giving the kid a full on ok to do it too. Kind of like it makes you a better player so you can get more money. I think it's disgusting and I wish there was more to be done about it. Now let me say again this is an unconfirmed rumor. On the list there are 4 players said to be confirmed by the New York Times. Now Red Sox fans are all pissed off because of Papi being outed which makes me a little disappointed because I like Papi. The reason people have said it's fake is because there are some names not on here which has already been shown to have used 'roids in 2003. You can make up your own mind but here's the list:
Thats ok Wall I got you...I can understand why they do it but at the same time I can't. It does have too much risk and there should be better regulation. The only reason I mentioned baseball only is because of the crap this list has started. Like I said-it's unconfirmed. I understand they want better power better speed and better contracts I don't understand why they would want to take the risk of death by using them nor how they can look at their fans and say I'm great because I use drugs...talent and work a good athlete makes NOT roids
avecaim: The problem is obviously bigger than one individual. Wonder what can be done to make these substances less easily available.
I would like to see harsher penalties-Papi said once that if someone is tested positive it should be a year suspension I think it should be that with a stiff fine plus they have to go through a program or something.

Harsh if everyone else is also doing it. I think a brief detox with ongoing education that won't interfere with their ability to do their job or spend healthy time with family, etc. would be better.
Using steriods in baseball is cheating because it was suppose to be about natural talent The Commissioner of Baseball should expose players that might be using them and not keep it silent
I think more kids got crushed that there hero did drugs than kids who though it was cool But it did send a wrong message to do whatever it take to succeed starting when they are in school
friends4now: John and avecaim those are great ideas I agree with you bothplaying field should be level
I was happy that Beckett and Papelbon were not on the list-my 2 favorite pitchers
I love the game. I have the Baseball sport's package on my DirecTV in the RV. I watch games all the time while I am travelling around the country. Since I lived in southern California for many, many years, I am a Los Angeles Angels fan and that other LA teams sometimes.
The game should be played with the best players doing their best. Not with a juiced up person doing things to his body.
Big_John: Fines, not playing, records eliminated and no hall of fame.
The playing field should be level.
I think playing might help them greatly to overcome their challenge. If they loose this activity they might fall prey to other nasty substances. They need hope and something to look forward to. If they are only miserable I do not see how they can move ahead.
